I love facilitation!
"Facilitation" comes from the Latin word “facilis” which means “it can be done”. A “facilitator” is somebody who makes things "doable", easy for somebody else.
Between the many different professional lives, I have always loved being a facilitator. When participants come to you, at the end of the session, saying that they’ve learned new thinking and collaboration techniques, they have new and useful perspectives on their problems or, better of all, they have finally had a fully productive session with their team… I feel absolutely satisfied and complete.
In the following article, I’ve tried to tell what is facilitation and why I love it. I hope this is the first of a long series of writings of mine on the subject.
